Sixteen candles
In Lapland, evolution and heavy snowing in winter have affected the form of the firs resulting in "candle firs", very narrow and resembling the form of a long candle. This is apparent also above.
Increased the planned skiing route length from yesterday's 8 km to 18 km, but the snowing made the skiing ardous as the skis collected the new snow below in the middle due to freezing despite it being only -4C. The worst were the new "nano skis" requiring no ski waxing, resulting in more than 1 km extra skiing as I had to return as the second last in our pack to find why the last one did not reach me. Then we returned together, having to stop after each 2 km to scrape the ice and snow beneath his nano skis. But now all is well, after the sauna and a cold beer :-)
