Nursery

It was a crazy day, weather-wise. It looked like rain this morning, but held off until an absolute deluge midday. We were about to play golf and promptly changed our minds!

But before that, I went over to the nursery that is collaborating with me on my class this summer. The manager of the annuals and perennials talked and walked with me for an hour and we got the first two weeks plants of the class totally sorted out. I am so awed by their generosity and graciousness and hope that it works out well for them and their customers as well as my students (and me!) which I know it will.

They had a number of fully in-bloom gorgeous dahlias today - both the annual and perennial ones. I didn't catch the name of this lovely one, nor the one in the extra. I couldn't decide which to use so I used both!

The dahlias in my garden are growing fast although the slugs are happily feasting on them - with the rain I can't get the slug bait to last long enough. But they're not nearly in bloom and probably won't be for a month or more.

Thanks so much for your kind comments on yesterday's visit to Bruce's garden and his lilies and poppies! Happy Monday!
