Edge of a hill

We met up with my friend for a lovely walk, starting from the village of Edgehill which is an OX postcode , north Cotswolds. We walked down into the plain , avoiding cows, then back up to the ridge for a picnic. What a stunning site. Here in October 1642 the Parliamentarians attacked the Royalists led by Charles 1, in the English Civil War. Apparently the result of the battle was inconclusive which was surprising as I’d imagine any army attacking uphill would have been at a severe disadvantage. We walked 7.5 miles then retired to the garden for refreshments. Lovely day.
