Insecure

Well is seemed to be a bird day today! On my first morning walk with Oscar I saw a woodpecker in the dead yucca tree opposite my house! I've herad them in the woods and the trees around the allotment but never thought I'd see one outside my backdoor! Once in the field for Oscars playdate I managed to get this photo of the young blackbirds nesting in a patch of nettles where there are some dead fallen branches. Apparently they do like to nest in hedgerows so I guess they thought it a good place! There are always buzzards flying above the field and today I saw one hover then drop to the ground, too far a way to see if it caught anything. Later it flew into a tree and two smaller birds were calling and flying around the tree obviously trying to lure it way from their nest.There is a note in the hut saying to keep your dog clear of the blackbirds nest, I hope the buzzard does the same.
Just as I was laving for the filed The Weaver and his wife caught me with a bag of green goodness as a swop for my Brioche! Once home I unpacked it to discover lettuce, rocket, courgettes, chives and parsley! My plants  are nowhere near providing me with courgettes nor lettuce! It will all go well with the Fish from my delivery yesterday!
