Fellow blipper under pressure

Took aA , mishkid and the grandchildren to 'the poppy fields' today. There were a lot of people there photographing including a family carrying a Bangladeshi flag and a red umbrella....... don't know what that was about. My question is why the field appears to have been abandoned with no crop?
