Diary of an Edinburgher

The Castle reappears

I could see the castle again this morning! The haar lifted, thank goodness, and it was warmish in the afternoon.

Kirsten, who used to walk Archie ages ago, has returned (from the other side of town) to live in our street, and has finished uni (law), so has plenty of time. She came to take him out, and he gave her a nice welcome. Not sure if he remembered her, or was just generally excited because he saw his stuff getting ready, so he knows to expect someone. Kirsten had a friend with her, and they went away up through the Hermitage, so that was great.

I spent a lot of the morning reading several newspapers (online) - such a LOT going on, and much of it quite depressing.

In the afternoon we took a dander down to the Meadows. Lots of folk, but lots of space. Looks like the cricket pitches are roped off and being prepared. Well - it’s pretty socially distanced.

We sat on a bench and watched all the people. Archie got fed up, and he rests his head on a handy foot. But he must have spotted another dog here.

On the way home, we popped in (just the garden) to visit Rufus and his mum. She insisted we have a G&T, so it would have been rude not to... most pleasant.

Still musing on bikes - definitely fold up electric bikes... decisions will be made this week.
