Pretty in Pink

The tropical fruit are available for sale in my local Asian store. Lychee fruit above; others will be coming.

This one is full of surprises and contradictions. A sturdy but thin and bumpy pink skin hides a layer of sweet and fragrant flesh, encasing a large, brown and shiny seed. What a mixture of colors, textures, and flavor!
