Scarlet Tiger Moth

This dramatic moth was on a dandelion leaf by our front door. Its favourite food is comfrey and there is a comfrey plant just a few feet away.

I had to go to high iso to allow sufficient depth of field and a high enough shutter speed to stop the slight movement of the leaf. The aperture was actually f11.
