Fine wind

After a lazy and uneventful day I had to settle for an emergency blip taken just before bedtime! 

This is the journal I use to keep track of mountains climbed. The painting is Fine Wind, Clear Morning by Hokusai, one of my favourites. 

For me, it captures the feeling of excitement and anticipation when you wake up to find conditions are perfect for races or adventures in the mountains. 

Strangely, prior to posting this photo, a friend reminded me it was six years ago this week that we drove up to and raced through Glen Coe together as part of a relay team. An amazing day, and the one more than any other that this painting makes me think back to.
