Budding twigs
Backblipped
We've been busy completing our task of pollarding the lime trees that surround our garden. As of Saturday, all done. Just as we were about to go out on Friday to start work the sky in the north turned inky black, and it was heading towards us. We delayed work until the rain had passed, but not before I'd popped out and photographed the lime tree twigs, the tips of which were red in the sunlight and showed up very nicely against the black sky. Alas, they are no more, though the crowns of the trees will start sprouting again shortly and they will be green again by the end of May. The branches grow a metre a year. The cycle begins again.
