Bring on the flies
My mint flowers are covered in flies (small green bottles) at the moment, which seems to be keeping the native bees and even European bees away. But not the predators! This praying mantis was in heaven and had a fly in its hot little hands when I found it (it dropped it and had to find another one - not hard at all).
A lovely grapevine moth also visited the mint, but it was there for such a short time, I didn't get a decent image. Very pretty day-flying black and white moth, with a very fluffy orange and black body. Not so popular with the local vineyards though.
Sorry my images are so bug-centered at the moment - in the winter it will be different, I promise!
