YOU'VE BEEN FLOCKED

While walking Angus & Scout today I saw this flock of plastic flamingos,
& I was reminded of when growing up, these were valued lawn ornaments.
Now they are a fun way to celebrate a birthday or a graduation during
the pandemic. (SEE EXTRA)  Notice the social distancing?

A few years ago a mysterious flamingo arrived at the South Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Imperial Beach, California (near San Diego).  This large area of wetlands attracts many migratory birds, but this was the first flamingo.  It was a big attractions for bird lovers.

Some thought it might have escaped the San Diego Zoo Safari Park or the Hotel Coronado, but this bird did not have its wings clipped.  This bird 
flew from pool to pool at the refuge, so it may have arrived from the West Indies, Yucatan (Mexican) or South America.  These beautiful pink birds
live in large flock or colonies, around lagoon or lakes, but they usually don't migrate.  The mystery continuers...

The flock of flamingos in my blip were not escapees from a zoo, or a fancy hotel.  They are just another way people are trying to make the best of a very difficult time.
