Keepsies

Did anyone ever play marbles when they were a kid? I only played a few times, but have always kept this cool clear and green marble. A "Keepsie."

I photographed it on one of the cards from my House of Cards deck. The marble on the card is an antique German marble.

Marbles originated from Pakistan, and are mentioned in ancient Egyptian and Roman writings.

I'm not sure how old my marble is, but it appears to be a simple "Swirly."

It doesn't matter. It's still a piece of my history.
