Left leaning
June has not been “ busting out all over” today. Quite the reverse, rainy and cool.
There are not many upsides of the lockdown, but one is events usually held in a space in London moving online, so accessible to all. And more of them - they must be proving popular.
So we’ve attended two Guardian Live events, one on the Cummings investigation and aftermath, the other the impact of COVID-19 on the Trump presidency. Both excellent. And a really good New Scientist event on good and bad science during this crisis.
I’ve booked two more Guardian Live events today (the difficult search for a vaccine for a coronavirus, and the successful Russian strategy and propaganda effort to undermine and divide the US and Europe using all sorts of dark arts). And a New Scientist one on the first few seconds of the Big Bang (that will really challenge my grey matter).
A zoom meeting this morning. This lily faced me as I stared at the screen. A casualty arising from a floral delivery on Tuesday. I thought it worth a blip.
