ABSTRACT THURSDAY - CHANGES

A short while ago I was red and vibrant 
     but now with fading petals 
          what do I have to look forward to?

Am I to be cast aside 
     because I no longer look as good 
          as I once did?

If all you remember was my beauty then
     you are missing out
          on my beauty now.
     
Inside there are thousands of seeds
     all ready to break free
          and be scattered by the wind
to show their latent beauty 
     in this garden 
          in another season.

Come back next summer 
     and I will show you 
          that looks aren’t everything
               and that change can be beautiful.
