Going back to nature

An outing beyond the city boundaries, today - yay! Ruth (daughter) and I visited a patch of woodland just outside Matlock. It was full of enigmatic signs of previous lives: the traces of an orchard in one part, with pear and apple trees much neglected but still recognisable;  this former cottage or workshop near some ancient, overgrown quarry workings in another.  It was peaceful.
