The Journey Begins

Heading to Southern Thailand on the train from Bangkok today. I was at the train station at 5:30am to buy the ticket and got the bonus of a beautiful sunrise. It was an 11 hour ride in 3rd class (the only option), which means open windows with fresh countryside air all the way (except for when we closed them during a brief rainstorm). It was a great way to see the different provinces pass by. I could feel the stress of being stuck in the city getting left behind as the train click-clacked down the track.
