Board

One of our Mr A’s projects during lockdown has been to extend our decking area, but as the original boards have been down for 6 years now, they’re looking a bit grubby.
We do clean them at the end of every summer, but compared to the brand spanking new boards there’s a stark contrast.

So last night, I conducted a little experiment with a couple of offcuts to see how I might be able to perk the old boards up a bit more.
Wood you believe it....bleach and elbow grease has proved to be the winner, as you can see on the cleaner looking piece. The piece closer to the camera was sprayed with bleach and left overnight; not much difference there.
Once it’s all cleaned up, Mr A is going to treat it with decking oil to preserve and protect it for the future.
