A view from a bridge!
Our last day here and we woke to rain! Still it gave us the opportunity to visit the amazing Queen Victoria building which was saved from demolition some years ago to create a wonderful shopping mall. Tiled floors; stained glass windows and two amazing clocks.
A brighter afternoon so, having walked back down to the quay, we got a train ticket to Milson Point on the North Side of the bridge. Tickets bought we went to get the train to be told there were engineering works on the line and we would have to get off at the next stop ( next to our hotel) and get a bus! The man taking our ticket at the bus stop was a scot and said - Welcome to Great Britain! The bus then took us over the bridge.
Anyway the sun duly came out and we enjoyed a walk back across the bridge with great views as you can see.
As we reached the South Side we looked around a great craft market at The Rocks the oldest part of Sydney where the port was established. Lots of old buildings their still, a great contrast to the modern skyscrapers behind the quay.
Meeting our friend this evening, who is going to travel with us to South Island, New Zealand, and another friend's daughter who now lives here. It is a small world really.
