Sally Mair - Loving life

Viola or Violet?

I spotted this beautiful little viola in the verge while we were out walking today. It was tiny, the size of a dog Violet. The clover leaves beside it are white clover which gives some idea of how wee it is. I don't think I've seen a violet in this colour so guess it's a garden escapee.
I went for my usual 2 miles this morning and wondered if the weather would hold, but I needn't have worried, its been a lovely day, not as hot as last week, but very pleasant.
We had a walk this afternoon around Ravelston Woods, I had taken a carrier bag and some hand sanitiser and gathered a bag full of cans and bottles and some chunky broken glass too. I've no idea what that came from. I do wish people would take their rubbish away with them not necessarily home with them, just to a bin!

We spent the afternoon lazing around in the garden, then had fish and chips from the chippy for dinner.

I went down to K's after dinner to drop off some jam and also some Oor Wullie books for Eilidh. We sat in the cool evening, wrapped up in thick jumpers. We sat 2m apart, she in her hallway and I on a dining chair on the path outside, it was good to be chatting over a cup of tea. The new normal? I can't imagine what we'd have thought of it last summer, if we could have seen into the future.

Keep well everybody, two days of better news from the FM, let's hope keeping to the plan allows us to move forward soon.
Just out of interest, 16682 steps.
