Daan's new allotment

We have one happy farmer in our midst!
This afternoon Daan, Annemarie and I went to see the allotment gardens nearby. We had an appointment at 15.00 hours with the chairman and he showed us all the gardens, especially the fallow ones.

It was as if we stepped into another world. One with singing birds, flowers and happy people (mostly older ones..) A nice atmosphere with nothing but friendly people, all working in their small fields.

When we saw it all, Daan chose this plot of about 6x17 meters, with a ditch nearby for water. A wise decision said the chairman, because the ground underneath all the weeds and grass should very good.
It will be plowed and milled next weekend and after that Daan will be in charge.
I signed the contract (because Daan is under 18) and we then went home an are of land richer.
