Wild flowers
After I did the grocery shopping this morning - again no queue, I just walked in - I stopped off to photograph some wild flowers that had been planted on the village green. The cornflowers (I think that is what they are) contrasted well with the red poppies.
I received an email from my dentist saying despite being back at work from today they will only be able to attend to emergencies first, and then patients who are mid treatment, and because there is such a backlog of patients needing to see the dentist, other patients likes me who need a routine checkup won't get an appointment for a long while. They can only see a limited number of patients each day due to the H&S measures in place due to the virus. You may have seen dentists on the BBC and ITV news last week talking about this - one of which was my friend who I blipped 2 weeks ago when we went out for walk and a coffee. Not being able to see patients at all during lockdown has led to some disastrous home attempts by patients at fixing a tooth problem.
Great news that NZ is now out of lockdown and life returns back to normal for them, although their borders are still closed. We are a long way off that and due to the many bunglings by the government in this crisis many people have lost confidence and seem to be doing their own thing, either being sensible and still social distancing or just ignoring the advice. Not sure why the 2 week quarantine was started from today, it should have been implemented back in March when numerous plane loads of people were arriving from infected countries like Italy, it seems a bit pointless now.
