Ronald McDonald House

Viewed from one of the few windows that look outside this is the Ronald Macdonald House at the Children’s Hospital. A fantastic resource that allows families to stay together while one of their number is receiving treatment, essential for some of the families who live many miles from Manchester but for whom this is the nearest or most appropriate hospital.
As with everything else at the moment Covid has caused big changes for parents visiting the hospital with only one parent allowed to accompany the child, they must stay resident, and shouldn’t be travelling back and forth which may increase the risk of the bringing covid into the hospital.
Having a child in hospital at anytime is a hugely stressful event and this is made so much worse by the restrictions imposed.
On a more positive note i attach a link to an article written about one of the lovely volunteers that help to support the charity, I know just how special this lady is as I had the privilege of working alongside her for many years up until her retirement
