Birthday

It's not actually his birthday today, but it's a lot easier to celebrate birthdays at the weekend in this house.  We started the day with presents and croissants and have had a rather relaxed kind of day.  The husband has pressed on with the fence, which is within striking distance of being completed.  On the other hand, pretty much all I've done is clean and cook all day long!  Oh, and have  a lovely walk with the youngest, who took his bike out and I think we went about 3 miles or so, which I think isn't too bad. 

Quote of the day #1:  I love you mummy, you're the best mummy in the world 
Quote of the day #2 - on return from our bike / walk, youngest to the eldest:  'I missed you, shall we go and play', so they held hands and ran off. 

Today I'm grateful for: 
Too much food (my waist line is less grateful) 
Lovely bike / walk with the youngest
Time this evening to get the sewing machine out which felt like bliss to have the time to do so
