Sophie, Queen Of The Castle

We met Kate & Sophie at Fyne Court, the National Trust property at Broomfield on The Quantock Hills near Bridgwater, for a walk through the woodlands there.

Sophie had been learning about life in Medieval castles when she went to school on Thursday and was bursting to share what she'd learnt with us: she was particularly taken with the idea of the court jester, court food taster and of course the washing and toilet arrangements :)

We had fun crossing the stream on log bridges and stepping stones and in the blip I liked the way she was concentrating on walking along a huge fallen tree trunk. I had trouble deciding between this one and the extra of her where I got the focus more on the texture of the tree so that Sophie's face has a more dreamy quality.

We enjoyed a picnic before we came home.

This afternoon Tess & I took another walk on Street Hill then sat in the garden in the sun with the Sunday papers.
