Sally Mair - Loving life

A Rosebud by my Early Walk...

A Rose-bud by my early walk,
Adoon a corn-enclosed bawk,
Sae gently bent its thorny stalk,
All on a dewy morning.
Ere twice the shades o' dawn are fled,
In a' its crimson glory spread,
And drooping rich the dewy head,
It scents the early morning.

Nothing like a verse of Robert Burns to start off the day! I spotted this beautiful wild rose while out for my walk this morning. It was cold out, but bright so quite a pleasant start to the day.
Back home, I was in time to pass on our old bike to a member of our local fb group in exchange for a donation to the church boiler fund. Our boiler was condemned in December and is going to cost a small fortune to replace, so every little helps.

A came over a few minutes later so we had a socially distanced coffee and catch up in the garden. The temperature was quite manageable.

After she left, I plootered about in the garden for a while and we had lunch. The day was much nicer than forecast. I got three loads of washing washed and dried so that was very satisfactory.
This afternoon I had a quick power nap which made up for my poor night's sleep last night and spent the rest of the afternoon either sitting in the sun or potting on and tying up various plants.

This evening we watched the first episode of the latest Marigold Hotel series, it's set in the south just now, in 'my' state of Tamil Nadu so lots of familiar things. I've not been to Pondicherry, but I've always wanted to. I wonder when I'll next be able to travel back to my second country? The news of the virus isn't good there just now, all my friends seen to be safe though PTL.

Keep safe and well and two metres away, friends. We can do this
