Macrame

This is the porch of Mike Burton's house, former State representative and head of Metro regional government. I often walk through this funny twist of streets just west of Columbia Park and south of Lombard, and sometimes get confused, thinking I'm walking one direction, but soon find I've veered off and am going another. Sound familiar.
The lovely macrame hangings almost make me want to take it up again. But, in order to make something to hang on our porch, it'd have to be made of nylon or plastic, something that would withstand a beating from the sun, not something pleasurable to handle like soft cotton string that would only last one or two seasons. There, I've talked myself out of that idea.
