These clematis flowers are a lovely rich, dark purple ..... until the sunlight shines through the petals and lights them up!

A blustery day, even a shower early evening with big hail and a rumble of thunder .... and a brief rainbow.   Assorted chores done, dropped a load of memorabilia off at the estate agent's and laundry at the hostel but had to walk back to collect the clothes as the car would not start again.  RAC will come tomorrow having been unable to find someone to come today - not a problem really given how rarely I use the car these days.  This evening I fitted a new curtain rail in Jamie's room and was delighted that the curtains made for smaller drop in the flat, hang just right in his new room.  A very chilly and blustery walk along the prom to close the day, big waves breaking and with the tide high, sometimes washing over the path.  Fun!
