Drive Thru
These two McDonalds staff members were controlling the traffic queue for the McDonalds Drive Through. There were already nearly 20 cars in the queue around the building to the pick-up point, so they were holding back the other cars, which queued up the road to and beyond the next junction. They were having to direct traffic to the end of the queue (which meant driving up to a roundabout to come back and join the line). I have never seen so many customers waiting for this branch of McDonalds.
There was a PCSO on the scene and I got chatting to her. Apparently they had been planning the re-opening of the branch for some time, and she was quite impressed with the way it was being organised. She pointed out that the queue here was considerably shorter than the queues which have been reported at other branches throughout the country.
Personally I don't go to McDonalds even where there isn't a queue. I can't imagine any circumstances in which I would have joined this one.
