Its all a bit Rhum

Lovely day here today, high cloud with sunshine so took the opportunity to get out for a decent walk. Headed over to Glenbrittle, parked up and then headed up the path toward Corrie Lagan. There had been some snow overnight and the temperatures had dropped well below freezing so the higher we got towards the Corrie the more snow there was on the path and the icier it became. Once we got up to the final accent before the actual corrie we decided that it was really too icy to continue up and turned back. Although I was disappointed not to get all the way up we have decided we will go back in the Spring time when the weather is warmer so that is something to look forward to!

As we walked up I disturbed a couple of Grouse who were hidden in the heather and then further on we saw four deer.

As we neared the bottom of the path on our way back, we passed a group of people heading up, two with snow boards on their backs. I thought they were a bit mad because by the time we were nearing the bottom cloud had started to descend over the mountains. If I see the rescue helicopter out later I will have a good idea who they will be rescuing!

Meant to say, the island on the right of the picture is Rhum and the smaller island on the left is Eigg.
