My Pal PD

Not sure what happened with SWMBO today - she got up had a couple of crumpets (done in the lovely new toaster), half a cup of tea and felt like she was about to throw up and has been in bed feeling squeamish all day.

I had a couple of jobs to do today so I tied them in with going for a walk.

First I had to drop off a baby monitor with Mrs H. She dropped it off with us when SHMBO's mother was going downhill but we never got the chance to use it. Mrs H's mother-in-law has been in hospital and is having to stay with the H's for a bit (the hospital is kicking her out before any kind of social care can be worked out) ..... which is a bit worrying on several levels.
Comment was made about the torrential rain - what rain? We never had rain!  3 miles and a couple of hundred feet in height can make a bit of a difference (I later learnt that a friend in the Borders  had hail the size of peas which really upset her horse that was stuck out on the hill with no shelter)
PD was delighted to see me for some reason and when he realised I was not there to take him for a walk he insisted that Mrs took a break and took him and  the complete lunatic - Buzz out onto the practice area at the golf club (right outside their house). If you look closely you can see that stupid has 2 golf balls in his mouth and is trying to work out how to pick up the third.

When I left the H's, I went for a walk round the ponds near them. On the way I stopped near to the pink cottage to watch a Buzzard being harassed by a crow - but it was too far to get a decent picture of the ariel antics.
There was a tremendous variety of Rhododendrons - deep pink (complete with bees), pale pinkplain whitewhite with purple faces,  ones like raspberry ripple and loads of others. Flag Irises (complete with flies and multiple colours of Primroses were also in abundance.
It was a very pleasant and colourful walk (out of the wind) I have to say ..... and not anther person was seen or heard - a real bonus. The icing on the cake would have been seeing the otters that are there (somewhere) but it was not to be.

After the walk it was the second job I had to do - the one I was not looking forward to ........... going to the Post Office.
However, II went to the one in West Calder which was pretty quiet and efficient I have to say.
