Flip Side

“Don’t believe everything that you read, always educate yourself on both sides of the situation” - that was sage advice that my dad gave to me as a young man just starting out on my own.
Today, I watched a peaceful protest take place in my hometown. Hundreds of folks of every age, race and religion - along with police officers handing out water and ice cream - coming together in solidarity, pain, love, confusion and empathy. When all was said and done - the crowd of several hundred prayed together, dispersed and went on their way - better informed, more driven to make change and more alike than different. Don’t believe everything you see on TV about America right now - there is a flip side.
