Flower Friday

This is a present I received this morning from Bob as it’s our wedding anniversary today ( number 44). I thought the wrapping paper with gum leaves and flowers was nice. Inside were my favourite presents - chocolate and a book. We went out for lunch- first take away or restaurant meal for ages since pre Covid days. I even had a cappuccino.

We are now waiting for our son to arrive. He is coming from Sydney for the long weekend. We celebrate the Queen’s birthday on Monday. A strange custom but you can’t take away a public holiday or there would be a riot. I think the Queen is an amazing person but don’t think we need to celebrate her birthday which is actually in April. Anyway it’s a great opportunity to see James. Dilemma.... we can have 5 guests in our home. So we can invite our Daughter and her hubby and 2 kids as that would make 5 guests. But we can’t invite our son and his wife and four kids as that would be 7 guests. 10 of us could meet at a park. Or Bob, James and I can visit the kids as they would only be having 3 guests! It takes a bit of planning with Covid restrictions in place.... or we could wait until next weekend and book a corporate box and go to the footy!

There is a lot of unrest at the moment due to Black deaths in custody. They still haven’t implemented the recommendations from a Royal Commission from the 1990’s. South Australia has relaxed the rules so people can attend. The other states are banning the marches. Why can’t they get people together and sort out the issues and implement the recommendations which are almost 30 years old?
