Departure Lounge

Our friend gave us some money for us to enjoy coffee at the airport, very sweet and thoughtful gift. So here's me with my 'flat whie', psyching mysekf up to endure the long journey. The 11-hour trek to LA wasn't bad at all even though we weren't able to sit next to each other. The 5.5 hours to Maui on the other hand.... We got rushed past the security queue at LA airport to catch our connecting flight to Maui and H swore she'd seen Goldie Hawn and partner on her way to buy some water.

Picked up a rental car and started driving, in the pitch dark, to find our accommodation - and got lost. But the relief and joy couldn't have been greater as we finally found our place!

Tomorrow, first full day in paradise.
