Not so many out today as there was a slight drizzle which puts the fine weather exercisers off. Actually it wasn't that bad and I managed easily without waterproofs.

Sad to say after all the nice weather today was not a day for working outside so I stayed in the Motor House and finished my detailed cleaning of the Bentley. I cleaned the nearside half of the engine polished the skuttle the front wing and the bonnet. I also cleaned off the nearside running board and painted it with tyre black. I then put the turn buckles for the hood and tonneau back together with the rear offside door handle and the handle for the bonnet so the outside of the car is pretty much finished. I continued and cleaned up the inside front and rear. I then started to look at the front dashboard and decided that I would also replace the old leather piping so fingers crossed and head upside down under the dash I undid the screws and managed to drop the wooden dash about an inch or so and ripped out the old dried leather. I always worry about doing things with the dash as there are so many wires but after I'd lowered it I tried all the switches and everything is still working. Tomorrow I will take the sewing machine down to the Motor House and crack on with the upholstery and get it done. When I was cleaning up the box on the running board which holds my tyre changing tools I decided to make it a little taller by increasing the height of the lid. This adjustment will give me a little bit more space and allow the jack to be upright insread of being stowed at an angle. During the evening I managed to locate on the Internet all the bits and pieces I need for this alteration. So when it all comes it will give me yet more to do. There's no way I'm going to get bored.

My blue leather hide arrived today which may or may not be needed for the upholstery depending on how well I do. If I wreck part of it and need to start again I'll need it if not then it's useful to have in stock.
