A Guy Called Gerald

We took the students to see the Bauhaus Archiv today. It's a great place that I could spend hours in despite not being the largest space. As well as the regular exhibition the second room had a Gertrud Arndt exhibition with examples of her textiles, photography and the work she did in Klee and Kandinsky's classes.

This evening we headed back to the Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt for an event called coded narratives. The art side of it involved an iPad being passed round the audience where we were to type in messages which displayed on the large screen on the stage and were converted to morse code which was fed in as an audio layer for a live performance by A guy called Gerald.

It was an interesting idea which didn't seem fully realised perhaps because of the audience not fully buying into it. The music was great though. I got chatting to Gerald afterwards then again at Tresor later on, lovely bloke.
