On the banks of the Severn
CleanSteve knew that the weather was about to change, so he suggested a jaunt down to the river Severn at Arlingham, opposite Newnham on Severn. When I escaped from my boring Zoom, we set off and reached the Riverside half an hour later.
The thing is, when we get there, I invariably. Lie on a rug and read, and soak up the sun. That's about all. It's amazingly relaxing, though.
The beach is not for paddling on, there are strong tides and quicksand. A child drowned in quicksand a few years ago. Nonetheless, people were walking on it. I guess it's all about knowing the tides. My imagined shot of the church at Newnham has not worked out as anticipated, but if you go to CleanSteve 's blip for today, all will be revealed.
I've finished another autobiography, An Open Book by a Monica Dickens, whose paperbacks were everywhere in the 1960s and 70s, and started The Snow Spider, by Jenny Nimmo. This one is for children, and was inspired by viewing the serial of the same name on the BBC over Easter just past.
