Maggie, most undignified
Thought I'd better take Maggie in for her overdue shots and check up in case we have to put her into a cattery at short notice (see yesterday).
She had those, de-wormed, de-flead, and a pedicure and manicure. Last check up the vet picked up a slight heart murmur and wondered about thyroid issues but blood test was ok. This time the vet could feel Maggie's thyroid which means it is enlarged (or has a benign growth?) and is likely causing the stress on the heart. We need to monitor that and perhaps have a chemical treatment within the next few months.
Dear Maggie. She turns 13 this year.
No change with Dave's dad so we aren't sure what is happening. Hard when you are far away and can't visit. Hopefully he can have a chat to one of his sisters or brothers tomorrow and find out what is happening.
Walk along South Brighton Beach today cleared the mind and lifted the spirits. Especially when we saw this monster lolloping towards us - it was Balu, the Irish Wolfhound belonging to some friends. He is like a direwolf or some mythical creature and stands as tall as my waist.
