Terrible times
Very busy day. 2 1/2 hour zoom with my book club with all of us and a poem (that we didn’t have to memorize) Lot of present situation talk. Very sad. One of us lost her son last week—a total shock! We are very sad for her. We are all old enuf…. some of us lived where total segregation was observed, some were ostracized for being “nigger lovers” in the 50s. The worst part of our meeting was how murderous we all feel (and quilty about such terrible feelings) toward our President and want him dead. How can he get worse than this week? The best part was one of us SINGING her poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” by Robert Frost. Lovely! The zoom thing totally exhausts me for some reason.. and I love these ladies... I don’t understand how many people can do it so much.
Then it’s also Fiona tuesday ..but she was happy to entertain us with another family PMV story. it’s hard to know what to say to grandkids about the mess in the world…I’m just happy to say there are always Black and Asian and all sorts of color brown..could be native Americans, middle eastern etc.. in her families. ... thanks to Playmobile) ….. some are adopted, some have different color parents, some have 2 moms or 2 dads or a mom and a step dad, or a dad and a step dad. It’s always fun to see what the next family will be about. Always lots of kids, today a pregnant mom in college with an infant with a boyfriend working 2 jobs to make money. Hopefully to get more than one room to live in. :-) .
We agreed on another topic for our family drawing challange… to be revealed next monday. . She’s already sent her drawing to me!
extra, with projects one can do with 1 sheet of paper (a little fold up book) and those cats, and the T rex DJ t shirt.
4th night of curfews in perhaps 28 cities .. protests in 140 ...., mostly but definitely not all peaceful.…and George Floyd’s funeral is thursday.
Just blipped my Blurb book (EB!) for blip’s 10th year that arrived today. As always , way more typos that I thot I’d fixed, but I can live with it. Showing when we were first in “quarantine” at the island. Will be 3 months soon.
