Wootton Bassett (Tuesday 2nd June 2020)

Templars Firs is one of the regular stop-off spots that I have been missing but can now get to once again. My last visit was on 29th January when I learned of the disappearance of the water voles and sadly they don't appear to have made a reappearance. I found a lone swan on the last visit and possibly the same one was there again (see Extra). I was also told that at the other end of this stretch of the Wilts & Berks there is a breeding pair to be seen.
As I blipped a swan last time, I have instead chosen this beautiful mallard duck who was guiding her brood of five ducklings along the canal.
