Tiny Tuesday (Sorry not a fruit!)
Trisharooni is hosting Tiny Tuesday this month and has suggested "fruit" as today's theme. However I'm going to be a rebel, as this morning I went out photographing with a couple of camera club pals (we can legally meet up to 5 other people now, at 2 metres apart out of doors!) - hope that's OK Trish, please feel free to reject it!
One of my pals is very keen on photographing dragonflies & damselflies, and knows of an excellent pond for the purpose not far away. So we arranged to meet there.
The main blip is a dragonfly which has just emerged from its pupa, seen above it in the photo: it was just spreading and drying its wings.
The first extra is a recently-emerged dragonfly, still drying its wings ready for flight, and the second extra is a close-up of its head region: I was pleased with the detail in its eyes.
The third extra is a bit gruesome - one of the poor creatures had got caught in a spider's web and the spider was having a fight with it, hoping for a crunchy snack. You can just make out some of the web threads if you view it large.
We also saw several couples (flies that is, not fellow humans!) working on making babies...I hope to make a Google album in the next day or two and will post a link if I get round to it, in case you're interested.
