Last Day of the Year

New Year’s Eve!
Actually I should say Hogmanay as we’re in Scotland!
What a lovely day we’ve had. When we woke up it looked like it had been snowing the frost was so heavy. And it all looked gorgeous and sparkly in the sunshine.
I went for a walk by myself first thing to get some photos of the Abbey looking all frosty and beautiful, then I carried on to the river Tweed and the chain bridge across it (see extras)
It was all so beautiful that when I got back to Marshall I insisted that everyone come with me to see! We packed up and went over to park in the rugby club car park so we didn’t have to rush back.
They loved it too and Archie and a bit of a run.
On the way back through town we stopped at Millers of Melrose to get lunch. Sausage roll for Miss E and the most amazing venison and black pudding rolls for me and Mr K. Possibly one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten!!
There was nothing for Miss L sadly so we went to the Co-op and I massively over compensated buying her chicken tikka bites, biscuits, sushi, mango and garlic olives.
Then it was time to be on our way. Back to England.
With a quick detour to Mary Queen Of Scots house in Jedburgh. It was closed but we had a nice wander round the beautiful  garden with its famous pear trees and tried to peek in the windows. The only one you could see through was the gift shop!
It was a lovely drive back down to the coast in Northumberland. The Satnav went a bit loopy but we got here eventually and we do like a scenic route!
We’re at Link House Farm near High Newton by the Sea. It’s where we spent last New Years Eve too.
We stayed up til Midnight, having a token toast with Baileys because we could barely stay awake. Like last year there were fireworks to watch in every direction. Miss E had fun sticking her head out of the sunroof to watch.
2020 already. Blimey!
