Discus fish
Discus fish surrounded by Angelfish.
Discus fish are aquarium fish native to the Amazon region and are considered the most beautiful freshwater fish in the world. They have beautiful patterns and can have a whole range of colors. Discus fish belong to the families of cichlids such as Malawi cichlids and are schooling fish that usually stay very relaxed in your aquarium.
Discus fish feel at home in an environment with slowly flowing clear soft and acidic water. Preferably with tree roots and branches around them. Aquarium plants are important, but make sure there is plenty of room for the discus fish to swim in schools.
They are peaceful fish although they prefer not to tolerate aquarium fish that move very fast.
