Relaxing the rules

Today the socialising rules brought on by the danger of Covid-19 have been relaxed a little. Now up to six people can meet in the fresh air. We decided to celebrate this by setting up a table at the foot of our drive, with cakes, prosecco and beer, and invited our nearest neighbours to bring a glass and join us at a suitable distance. It was so lovely to stand and chat - in fact we stood for two hours chatting and partaking of refreshment. (The garden chairs were to hand, but I think everyone found standing more sociable.)
It may still be impossible for us to visit family, but at least our spirits were uplifted by this modest socialising. Went for our usual walk a little later, on this hot, hot day. (Mr PP had had a cycle earlier in the day, too.)
So, under a cloudless blue sky, with soaring temperatures, it was all in all a very pleasant day.
Thanks for all the lovely comments and stars on my yesterblip.
