First of the year

A Northern Marsh Orchid, the first I've seen this year, just coming out. Later in the day I saw a few others, but this was the first!

This weekend there was a Garden BioBlitz organised by the local field club. The idea was to record all the wildlife in your garden, including plants, in 24hours. I ventured into John's garden as he wasn't participating and the extra is the pink purslane again, looking lovely in a little glade in his woodland. 

Like blip does, it made you actually look at things, rather than just seeing them.
