A new vacuum cleaner!!!

We have had very difficult-to-clean carpets for a long time now, with our existing hoover. Yesterday afternoon, I was going to hoover, but knew it was going to be really hard work, and that the carpets wouldn’t look any different after my efforts, so I got online and ordered a Dyson. I found a free next day delivery code, and hey presto, it arrived while we were having coffee in the garden this morning. Everyone was excited, but Jon got to use it first. It transformed our dining room and lounge carpets, and is money well spent.

It was such a nice day, we didn’t do a huge amount. I got summer clothes out of the loft, and swapped them with the winter clothes that are still in my wardrobe. It took an age. For now they are hanging in my wardrobe, but I will go through and wash and iron them before wearing. I only managed to turn out a couple of bits to the charity bag. I must try harder. Most of the summer clothes I have, are at least 10 years old, maybe 15 in some cases. But because of space, I always put them up in the loft, so when they come back down I am always pleased to see them, and don’t feel the need to buy new things every year.

I cooked a roast for lunch which we ate in the garden. We have to be so thankful for the lovely weather. It has been the only time we have eaten at a table over the last 10 weeks.

Jon isn’t working now, so I persuaded him to let me swap the tables over. So I spent some time clearing and moving everything. The table is now installed in the original position, where I started at the beginning of the lockdown, so I am facing the shed again. I shouldn’t get as much glare on my screen. It also means if we are sitting in the conservatory we can now see out into the garden.

A boiled egg for tea, and a nice bath, and early night. I want to start work early tomorrow so need to get to sleep early too.
