And if ain't broke then don't try to fix it

Si stuck his head out of the back door this morning; there was a raging cacaphony of bird squabble, and he spotted several sparrows sitting outside Cosmo - he thought they were eating my seedlings, but then he realised that they were bathing in the seed tray.

So when I managed down - i wandered out and took all the seed pots off the tray filled it with more water and sat and waited.

My patience was rewarded.

Soon many little starling families were sitting and drinking and splashing and squabling.

We couldn't even speak - there was no point, there was so much noise.

There were about 18 starlings at the busiest period; 1 rook, 1 blue tit and 3 sparrows.

Its so enjoyable to watch them all squwaking away.

We took a run to the allotment.  I cleared a messy bit next to the water tanks and planted some sunflowers and marigolds and some herb, which no one could identify ( I think it's thyme).  Si sorted our water butt - it was hanging to one side.

The sleepers are starting to rot, we aren't sure how long  they have been there, so we have decided to lift them and place fake grass down.

We both think it will look quirky.  Which is perfect.  Morrison's had it at a reasonable price so its already.
