Gendarme still on traffic duty, 1969.

This painting in acrylics is of an episode in my early life, July 1969, when Val and myself climbed Sgurr nan Gillean on Skye by its West Ridge. Val in red is seen helping two other climbers past the tricky gendarme.
The gendarme fell down some years later so easing traffic flow.
