Pinkie House

Have had a lovely busy, day with two charming Visitors from Beijing, both teachers, after collecting them in Glasgow, we drove to Edinburgh, visited the Castle, then on down to Musselburgh, they had been invited to lunch with the Head master of Loretto school, I had coffee with them on arrival in Pinkie House now part of the school. The house originally from 14th & 15th century was the home of Alexander Seton, an influential man in his day staunch supporter of the Stuart Dynasty, his daughter was one of Mary, Queen of Scots ladies, from the song " the Four Marys"
Anyway after that history lesson! this blip is the beautiful painted original ceiling in one of the upper rooms!
On way back to Glasgow the ladies wanted to shop, so we stopped at the Gyle they contributed greatly to the Scottish economy! Each came back to the car with 4 shopping bags each!!

Last nights talk on the men who built the Forth Bridge was very interesting, presented by two me from South Queensferry, their book "the Briggers" is on sale (amazon) or shops in the town of SQ ( preferably)!
