A VERY Wet Afternoon

I was woken up by a huge clap of thunder this morning - nearly jumped out of my skin! The forecast was for rain all day with a short break in the morning. As it turned out, it changed to no rain till 3:00 pm. So after lunch I figured I'd go move plants around in the garden to take advantage of the rain and the moment I changed into my gardening clothes it started raining. Then it stopped so I went outside and planted two small marigolds that I'd started from seed....then....you know it...the thunder started again and the skies opened. So I gave up and have spent the rest of the afternoon at my computer and a lovely hour and a half catching up with a dear friend on the phone.

Fortunately I caught this lovely perennial geranium 'Rozanne' - a workhorse of a plant in the garden - in the small time in between the rains. She creates a lovely mound at first, then spreading long stems out horizontally across the soil...not aggressive in the least. USDA  zones 4-10. Does love to be on the moist side and will take partial to full sun. I'm very fond of perennial geraniums and have several in my garden. You'll see photos of the others one of these days I am sure :-)

Happy weekend! Be well and be safe! And smile if you can....amazing what a smile will do for both you and other people.
